About Me

Hi I’m Phil Gardiner

Enterprise Agility Coach & Occastional Blogger

I was bitten by the Agile bug back in 2009 and, since then, I have learned all I can about being lean and being agile.  So much of what have learned was through the willingness of others to share their stories, tips, tricks, advice, time, and even angst with me.

This blog was started in the fall of 2018 at the urging of some of the coaches I had mentored at a Fortune 10 customer. Looking at the number of blog posts sitting in my notes app and the number actually posted here, I must say that I have not been too successful in this endeavor.

Why bigagileguy.com?  At 6’4″ and 300+ lbs., I found that many people referred to me as “that big guy” and, as I wanted this blog to be about agility, I landed on bigagileguy.com

I spent many years working for a massive telecom giant, spent several years coaching for a consultant, and, as of October 2020, I am working for a US Defense Contractor, serving as an Enterprise Agility Coach. My current role has allowed me to focus on enabling the individuals who have focused their careers and spent their lives serving our country.  I have been able to be part of a few success stories so far and look forward to seeing many more of these change agents and government leaders achieve greater business agility.

What about fun?  I have been blessed with an amazing wife and an awesome daughter.  The two of them keep me on my toes while I also enjoy reading, watching old sci-fi shows, tinkering with RC cars, and chugging along on my e-bike. Since I get to do what I love and love what I do so, much of my time outside of work is spent collaborating with the Scaled Agile SPCT Community or slacking with the variety of like-minded agilists that I have encountered over the years.

Regards.

Phil
